An icon license without the fine print

Buy once, use forever: every Majesticons license is a one-time payment that covers commercial projects, client work and lifetime updates. No subscription, no per-project fees, no lawyer required.

The license, plainly

What your license covers

The short version of the terms — what you can build with the icons, and the few things you can't.

You can

  • Commercial websites, apps and products — and charging for them
  • Client work: deliver designs and code that include the icons
  • Unlimited projects, personal and commercial alike
  • Modifying icons (color, stroke width, size) to fit your design
  • Using the Figma master file across your licensed team

You can't

  • Reselling or redistributing the icons as an icon library or font
  • Including the icons in a UI kit, template or theme you distribute
  • Sharing your account or license key beyond your licensed seats
  • Using more than 150 icons in a single project

The one number worth remembering: a license is per user, not per project — use the icons in as many projects as you like, up to 150 icons per project.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything about licensing, updates and how the library works.

Is the license a subscription?
No. You pay once and the license is yours for life, including all future icon updates at no extra cost. There is nothing to renew and no recurring charge.
Can I use the icons in commercial projects?
Yes — commercial businesses, websites, apps and client projects are all covered, and you can charge for that work. The only restriction is redistribution: you may not use Majesticons to produce another icon library, or incorporate them into a UI kit or template that you distribute.
How many projects can I use the icons in?
As many as you like — the license is per user, not per project. Please mind not to use more than 150 icons within a single project.
What does a client receive when I hand over work?
Your deliverables — designs, websites, apps — can include the icons used in them. What clients cannot do is extract the icons and reuse them as a library; if they want to work with the full set themselves, they need their own license.
How does the Team license work?
The Team tier covers up to 5 users: each teammate gets their own account with full access to the web app, downloads and the Figma file. Need more than 5 seats? Contact majesticons@halfmage.com for a custom license.
Are any icons free?
Yes — browsing and previewing all icons on this site is free, and a subset of 760 icons is MIT-licensed on npm as "majesticons", free for any use. The full set of 11,000+ icons requires a paid license.
Do I get a license key?
Yes. After purchase (via Gumroad) your access is provisioned automatically; you also receive a license key you can redeem on your account page if anything goes wrong. Your account page is where downloads, the Figma file and team seats live.
